This was on my best friend Patrick's blog http://patrickwitherow.wordpress.com a few days ago. Probably the nicest thing I've ever had anyone say about me. God truly has blessed me with a friend that sticks closer than a brother.
Congrats to Jason.July 5th, 2006
I think most of us have friends who we consider our little brother, or even our big brother. I’d have to say that my little brother would be my good friend Jason Simmons from Richmond Hill. We pretty much went through high school together, grew up in the same neighborhood, and both went to Georgia Southern and we were even roommates with 2 other guys in a 2-story house for a year. It’s funny to look back and think that I used to pick him up every morning on the way to high school…those were the days.
Now we are both college grads, have jobs, and still don’t know our right from our left at times, but we look out for each other, stay in touch, and whenever I’m home I always want to catch up with him. Well, just the other day Jason asked his girlfriend to marry him! Yup, Jason’s engaged and the guy I call my little bro is growing up and will soon have a wife. I’m so happy for the two of them and I know that she’ll be married to a real man of integrity, kindness, who has a servant’s heart.
Looks like I’ll need to rent another tux and plan a bachelor party…

Thought I'd stick a post up this morning since its all quiet today. I've had a really quiet two days this week. Jody has been out of the office for the past 2 days and I've been doing database work the whole time he's been gone. That's really about all that's been happening. We'll, hopefully, hear from the music store that we worked a deal with today and pickup our new toys. We're getting 2 new studio mics ($700each) and some other stuff that will greatly help us with our on site events. I've been waiting on these for about the last 2 months.
Beth is doing well. We're looking for a place to have the reception. I'm praying that God will drop it in our laps, so that we can wrap up a bunch of the smaller things next month. That's all for now, hope you have a great day!

Good morning! I hope that everyone's weekend went as well as mine did. It was great to get to relax and enjoy some down time this weekend. I got to hang out with 2 of my favorite people on Friday night, Patrick and Beth. We had a great time eating dinner and just hanging out at the Savannah mall. Saturday was nice because I was able to get the hair cut that I tried to get last weekend but missed due to working a wreck with the FD. I also got to sleep late! Ahhh... I hung out with Beth and two of our friends for part of the afternoon. They are good people who we are praying for and trying to love where they are right now. Beth and I then spent the night watching the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Good story but too much "dark content" involving witchcraft and other junk. Sunday I led worship at SouthWest for the first time in about 6 months. I had a great time and was surprised at how much the church has grown since I left. Beth and I had lunch with some good friends of mine, The Mannings. We had a great time just talking and introducing Beth to that "Dirty Jobs" show on Discovery Channel. The wedding plans continue to take shape. The reception is now at the top of the list. We have to figure out a place to have it and then book it. I realized this weekend just how much fun I have to getting to be around Beth! She has quickly become a passion of mine and I highly enjoy watching her as God continues to grow her in Him. Well that's all for now. Hope you have a great day!

I'm not very awake at the moment so I hope you'll excuse any typing mistakes that may appear below. We had a great time this morning in Pooler. I got up at 3:30am and realized that I left a folder with all of the names for our big bike giveaway at the station. So I drove to the station this morning and picked up the folder at around 4:30am and made it to Pooler by 4:45. We got set up and Ben (the intern) and I put banner tape everywhere that we could possibly get it up. You would think that anything with tape in the name would be sticky, but that's what I get for thinking. haha We had about 75 people show up and it was a whole lot of fun. Well gotta run. We've been having problems with the transmitter all morning and it appears to be out again so I'll catch you again tomorrow.

Beth and I on the day we got engaged. July 1st 2006

Wow! Today has been a crazy day. I've been running all over the place trying to get ready for the morning show crew, Rob & Kristin, to come in this afternoon and do the show in the morning. On top of all that the DAD, the computer that runs the traffic (spots) for our frequency decided to eat a very important file that I had to get with the engineers to fix. I also got a spot that was 3 days late and had to hand drop it into every play list for every day from today until August 26th for Shout Fest. It looks like Shout Fest www.whywhisper.com is going to be really good. They have a bunch of new rock bands and a few main stream people coming too. I'm hoping to get to meet many of them and do some interviews.
Jody, Sharon, Beth, and I have dinner with Rob and Kristin tonight at Love's ( a local Sea food place a.k.a. the nude bar in Forrest Gump) and then I'm off to go to bed. We have to be at Cafe 80 in Pooler tomorrow at 4:30 am to get ready for the show. I may not post tomorrow because of that, but I'll catch you up on tomorrow on Friday.
On a happier note Beth and I have a place to get married now. Windsor Forrest Baptist Church is going to be the place if she agrees, which I hope she does :) Well that's it for now. Hope you have a great day!
