Sorry Ladies!

Well I'm now a married man and it ROCKS! The wedding on Saturday was awesome! The day started off with a great time at the gun range. My Glock broke, which I've never seen or heard of happening, but the day was fun none the less. I got to shoot two special guns that I've never shot before, an AK-47 and an M-1 Garrand from WWII. Both were sweet to shoot and I really enjoyed myself. My Grandmother, on Dad's side, fixed a huge spread of Ribs and other BBQ for all of the family for lunch, and I gorged myself! :) Then it was off to the wedding! I had to pick up a drum for Patrick to play when I played my song for Beth and then I was there. The place was decorated by her mom's reunion group and looked awesome. Patrick and I practiced the song I wrote for her before the wedding. It went really well and she loved it. She was and still is the prettiest woman I've ever seen! I have to admit to almost crying when I saw her in her dress comming to me. It is a memory that will stick with me for the rest of my life. The wedding was great and the reception was fun too. God really blessed us with the people that we desired to be there and a great group of friends. Patrick was the greatest Best Man that I could have asked for. He made sure I had every thing that I needed and followed me around to make sure I was where I was supposed to be. Patrick as far as friends go is tops in my book! We had a great time at the reception and then we changed and left. But oh no, the story isn't finished yet. As we were leaving I of course being the gentleman opened her door for her and that was when it happened. Patrick, who until then had done great, My brother, who I knew would be invloved soem how, and My cousin Nathan, what a wild a crazy guy, proceded to shower me with not one, or two, but three 5lb. bags of raw grits. I think that I still have 1/2 a pound in my car right now! It's amazing where those little things can end up. You might be thinking right now, he must have been mad, well I wasn't. It's a family traditionthat's been going on for years in my family. My Dad and a few others I know got it too. So we got in the car, grits and all, and went back to the house for the rest of the night. Man God is way better to us than we deserve.

Drama,the Wedding, and more Drama!!!

My offical quote of the week goes to Tommy Duke, Youth Pastor of South Effingham Community Church, "I'd rather be married than get married (or have a wedding)!" I 'm now seeing the wisdom in this statement. I'm already longing for the simple days of only worring about how in the world I'm gonna beat LSU and Auburn with the UGA line up this season on EA Sports NCAA Football 07. But then reality slaps me in the face again and I'm yanked back into the real world where everything is going crazy! All of this made me think this week about how greatful I am that I don't have to be in control! Man God is good, way better than he has to be! So here's to playing x-box and getting married. One as simple as pushing the x-button and the other trying not to have an x. Ha-ha!!! In case you're wondering what I'm doing saturday morning before the wedding, I'm going to the shooting range for my bachlelor party!! I hope to have pics to post next week. Hope you have a great week.

P.S. Please pray for great weather for Saturday! We're doing an outside wedding and need the weather to be nice! Thanks a bunch!

Let the countdown begin!!!

5 days to go!!! Things are getting pretty busy around here with all the wedding preps. I'm ready to just be finished. I know that we couldn't invite everyone to the wedding, so we're having a big new years eve party, catered and everything, to celebrate the wedding and the new year. So you guys, you know who you are Dan, Josh Luke, Kirk, Barry..., email me at jason.simmons@hisradio.net and I'll fill you in on the details. That's pretty much it for now. I'm going to try and take some pictures of my party, going to the gun range, on Saturday and post them before the wedding. As far as the Honeymoon goes we'll be here in town for the first weekend. Beth is in class at Gulfstream and can't miss any time there. The following weekend we're going to go to Greenville SC to a bed and breakfast there to relax and get out of town. http://www.theredhorseinn.com/index.htm Thanks to the lone poster Dan Formerly known as the driver of a Blue Ford Ranger Xlt for the post. I hope everyone has a great week.

Random post for the month.

Well I decided that since its been about a month since I posted that I take a chance and post again. I'm less than 9 days out from the wedding now and it seems to be consuming everything in its path. I can only hope to die like a man, running full speed in the other direction! haha. Just kidding. I'm really excited and ready to get it done. I'm sure I'll be useless for the most part next week. My boss says that theres nothing new about that. But seriously I feel like a nomad. I move from place to place and have to home. All of my stuff is at her place and I have nothing but my lap top and a few guns at my house. Guys you'll know how bad this is when I tell you that my X-box with my new copy of NCAA Football 07 is at her place. I think we may need to start an I'm addicted to EA Sports games support group. We've been busy here at the station with a couple of events last week. We had a FCA event where I got to meet Hershel Walker and get a picture with him. That was really cool, although I have to admit a part of me really wished that it was AP not Hershel, and I've got a signed UGA helmet from him comming to me soon. Guess I'll have to make room in the GSU shrine for that. We also had Mark Shultz and Big Daddy Weave in concert on thursday. I got a pic with Shultz and also got some good advice on married life as he just finished up a year with his new wife. I'll post a pic down below of Jody and I with Shultz. We also found out that we've got Mercy Me and Audio Adrenline comming November 14th. I'm thinking that this show will sell out. I'm really excited because this is Audio A's last tour and I've never seen them before. Well catch ya later. I have no idea when the next paot will be. Probally next week right before the wedding. See ya soon!
