I like to eat!

This thought occured to me yesterday while I listened to my co-workers raise support for our station group through our fall fundraiser. It makes me very thankful for many things that I think I've taken for granted lately. I'm thnakful for the chance to work for such a great station and for the opportunites to meet all of the artists that come through. I also thankful for the chance to work for a minstry first, and that this ministry is a business second. I may not make much, those of you in minstry work can probably identify and give me an amen right here, but I'm reminded of why we're here by the stories that I've heard over the last few days. We've had two people call and talk about how they were going to kill themselves, one even had a gun in his mouth ready to pull the trigger, but through a God moment they heard our station and were given hope to continue and to give thier lives to Christ. That is why we do what we do. Why we work long hours and usually more than one job, why we get small pay checks, and why we give of our selves to others. What an awesome privelige to be a part of what God is doing in our world!!!
Job Update: I would love your prayers for a job prospect here in Savannah. I'm looking at trying to work part time for Southside Fire Department as a Public Relations officer and at getting my EMT to go with my national fire certification. The job as a PR guy would benefit them as well as me, but I have to sell the Chief on it. Pray that if it's what God wants it will happen and if not that it will all work out.
Video Game Update: This section was inspired by Kirk and his recent post on video games. I'm working on two games right now on my x-box. Nascar 2005 is a revival and is just fun to drive around a wreck Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson, and Kyle Busch. I also just got the new NCAA Football game and I'm really enjoying the new create a player mode where you create a freshman and take him all the way through the 4 year process. Its really a great idea by the guys at EA.
Fantasy Update: I'm 6th of 8 in the Baseball league. I'm going to have to draft better pitching next year and Kick A-rod to the curb. What a disappointment. On the upside I'm 2 and 0 , how I don't really know, in the Football league. I'm praying for a good week again, thanks to Brett Farve.
Wedding Update: Praise God it looks like things have settled down and that we're through with most of the planning. Now its on to picking the vows and the ceremony arrangment. I've also got to tweak the song I wrote for her and that I'm going to sing at the wedding.
This is JD signing off!

Long time no see

Well first I must apologize for not having posted in quite a while. Its been rather busy here at the office so I haven't been able to blog very much. Things are starting to settle down in the area of wedding planning. About 5 and a half weeks to go. Beth just got back from a weekend in the mountains, which seems to do her a great deal of good. I'm getting excited about seeing people who are coming that I don't get to see very often. I don't know much more to write right now, but I'll post again in the next day or two.

Really random thoughts today.

I have some free time this morning so I thought I'd update the ole blog post. I'm ready to slow down, ready to be married, and ready to stop having to drive for 2 hours a day to and from work. I've really enjoyed reading the Nexus blog of one of my friends as he rants about stuff that is truly funny! You should give it a look. I'm off to serve on a music team this weekend for the first Golden Isles Walk to Emmaus. My car looks like a music store, with fire gear, and clothes. What more could you need in life? I ran a fire call last night, which was the first one in a while, so it was fun to drive the fire truck. Well I'm off to update my I=pod and get ready for tonight. I think I'll get Beth some flowers and leave them at her house as a surprise.
